I saw a version of this in Craft stamper so I had a go.I used ten second studio appletini and plum metals.The dies and stamps were from paper artsy.You make a sandwich of metal humungo tape and card and cut out.Sadly my wiazrd seemed to jib at this sandwich and I had to cut most of it my hand following the lines.I have since found a paper backing to cut much better.Anyway I stamped it all with gold stazon using a variety of the paper artsy stamps.I was very please with the result even if the edges were a littly wonky.I cant get enough of these dies and stamps.

I made this card for my mum.I cut layers of metal sandwiched with paper using humungo tape using a poinsettia nestability.I know you should use card but I can,t get my wizard to cut right through.I stamped and shaped the pieces.Then I edged it with a ten second studio wheel tool.Really liked this

These were for a very special swap.I used the ooze method through a very open ironed mat of angelina fibres.This was the thick glitterati type not the fine stuff.I just loved how they turned out.I used a jigsaw cutter from Liz Welch.Its really fantastic.

I was doing a swap called glittered inchies and made these from metal.My 1 inch punch cut most of them easily as long as the embossing wasnt too thick.What a great way to use up bits.They are all moulded onto moulds and I really liked using small parts of a mould.

Here is the inside-I stamped on various colours leaving them as wispy as I could.the lining is done with a cuttlebug folder

I have just made these by hand.The use of embossing folders seems to give brilliant results which are very sharp butI felt like being more creative.Being naturally untidy I find this incredibly difficult but at last I feel I have managed to get a resonable result.I think I have been over resining before.

Vilene tiles

I Spread gesso quite heavily over the Vilene using a brush. Then I drew a motif on the surface with the kebab stick.I sprayed with some radiant rain.I was meant to paint the lines with ink which dry to a pale grey,having nothing suitable I used a silver sharpie.I added extra paint and edgings and was then ready to create 3 ATCs.

I think I deviated from the instructions after this as I used one piece as a background and one kite shape for another and lots of circles for the last one.I think I was meant to use just 3 slices one on each ATC.

Old and new swap

The old was the stamp which I love.The new was some christmas tissue paper.I decided to make some caught in crystal with polished pigments.Anyway then i made a frame with grungeboard and painted it with ferro and cosmic shimmer paints.The final touch was an embellishment.I hope Annie likes it.

A friend of mine came to art class with her offering from a course she did.I thought I would have a go at something abstract having all the required craft materials in my cupboard at home.I am so glad I had a go as I really really like this.It is coloured with starburst stains and mica inks.I used a variety of gels and tissuse papers and some silver beads and embossing powders.

I have been doing an online course with jessica Sprague.I was quite pleased with this.The brush is from Annikaavonholtdt and the frame was course material for a previous course but I coloured it.I was thrilled with the graded shading on the brush which I did.

I wanted to create my own moulds for clay and have been wondering how to proceed.First I stamped into fimo to make a leafy background.Then I cut out a lozenge shape and baked it.

We have all been making these.See Adriennes blog for the instructions.Here are some of my effortsThey are very pretty-but Im not sure i rolled them flat enough at the last stage.Still they look nice unrolled too.I also have lots of bits which I made from the scraps but these arent decorated as yet.I am trying to make a Klimtesque piece but havent got it yet

This was Margaret's choice and didnt appeal to me at all but needs must! Karen had sent me a wonderful canvas and ATC where she stamped texture into golden gel and then used a gold rub on so I thought this method might be worth a try.I photoshopped a picture of an angel and made all the colours sepia.The background was just black.I made rays around the angel with the gel and stood her on a pumice gel plinth.Then I rubbed on the gold.
Its not very me and I hope she likes it .I did enjoy the method and she's growing on me.

paper quilt-clever things to do with a wizard!!

My good friend Adrienne gave me some instructions on how to make a paper quilt and I thought I d combine it with a swap I was doing entitled clever things to do with your wizard.

The materials I used were angelina, fantasy film,copper mesh,metal sheet foils (the sort you put on dried glue-the fine flimsy ones) and wrapping paper.

I used fiskars plates.cuttlebug folders various dies ,lace and some metal embellishments to create the items.I particularly likes the lace bands on fantasy film top and bottom and the foil butterfly over a heavy metal embellishment.I am quite pleased with this and there is not a bottlecap in sight.

Mould mania

Here are my latest experiments with moulds.First the Krafty lady one which are brilliant.I used UEE and fimo here.I dusted the moulds with mica powders before using fimo soft.The pansy and faceis the fimo.the paler ones are UTEE.

I also bought some hard amaco moulds which I tried.The fimo ones were again dusted with mica.they do ease out gently with a craft knife.Some of the designs are great and they were a bargain on ebay.these are the pinky hearts

Lastly amaco again with UTEE.they do come out!!.I chose shallow ones and sprayed with silicone first.I can now make some more inerestingly coloured ones.These are the bronze daisy and leaves

Finally I think i got this.I used my melt pot but only put the glass in the shallow area to coat one side.Then I added the film trimmed and touched the edges onto the dry piece of pot to seal.Finally i poured UTEE on and stamped into it.These are the neatest ones I ever made!!

I made this panel as an excercise in texture.It is coloured with glimmer mists and perfect pigments with hairspray.The texture is formed from mesh, gesso, gel and paper.

Glass balls for Christmas

My favourite colour is purple!!!I got these very cheap glass balls and swirled solution for glass inside and left for an hour to drain.I added small scoops of mica powders-any that dont contain gum arabic work.The magic comes with one of those puffer things that you get with blo pens.I inserted it into the ball and puffed -adding colours in different places. better than a bent stick!!!

Versatile stamping ATCS

These 3 cards were made with a paperartsy stamp.The first has fantasy film which was heated to make it crinkle over a squiggle background.I cut out the head .

The middle one has a frame cut from metal with the wizard and then textured.this one needs more work but I am not sure what.

The last one is metal flakes on a xyron sheet which I stamped.Then I added some star brads.

I made this with my bind it all to display ATCs.I have a 7 gypsies one but each card needs notching which I dont like to do.I used some spare plastic wallets cut down to just over 3.5 by 3.Punching these out was a nightmare as I had to do each one individually.They didnt cut cleanly like paper or card and I had to trim each one with a little pair of scissors,I made 3 "covers" from mount board to provide the stand.The covers were a tiny bit larger than the plastic pockets.I used a 5/8 binder but I am going to remove this and use an inch oneas the pages are a bit tight.

The first ATC is on black glssy card with marvys added giving a silvery background which sadly isnt too clear.

The middle one was a shining stones background which I thought was a bit muddy and garish but its amazing how they all look great when stamped up.

The last was acetate coloured with alcohol inks and metallics.

Shining stones with starburst stains

I painted on the stains with a foam brush onto glossy card.I used 2 colours then spritzed with mica spray.I liked the way the colours mingle.

Chrissys board book

The theme of the book was friendships and I thought that I might include animal friends.
I know that Chrissy has a beautiful dog called Molly who I thought would be the main image.The background is layers of starburst stains in blue and gold with white acrylic dry brushed between to create some depth.The paws were a masterstoke.Someone had given them to me and I found them in my box when searching for inspiration.

Pen and wash project

I don't usually share my art on here but I rather like this one.We all had to put a very loose wash onto the page-mine was far looser than everyones being a messy person.In fact I deliberately used a huge brush. If you look closely you can see where the colours are all over the place.

We used pen to pull the whole thing together and add the shadows .

Melt pot mayhem!!

I have finally got out my melt pot which I wanted to use for faux carnival glass on formica samples.I soon discovered they get very thick very quickly so in the end I only did the first initial dunk and then set to work with my heat gun.

I realised also that stamping into the hot UTEE wasn't my forte-I press too hard i thin and I gave up doing this.In the end I was just happy to add glitter mica powders and other bits and bobs.

The blue sample isn't made with film at all but with foil which Suze Weinberg demonstrated a while ago.The pink sample used opals ep glitter and micro beads.The greenish one is true faux carnival glass but without the stamping.Finally i had to do the backs without ruining the front and eventually made little mats of angelina fibres which I ironed onto the back with my craft iron.

Thanks to loads of people -Caz for the samples and everyone who advised on powders.in the end I used regular UTEE with flex in it not the opals stuff.

This was a really hard exercise to do.ATCs are small so to find a good piece of text to use was very difficult.Also the print was small so i had a problem being able to read it.I covered the text first with diamond glaze before painting over the text which I had discarded with paint.

Then I had to make them look like ATCs with decoration stamping and embellishments.

On the whole I was quite pleased with them but they took hours to make.

Faux carnival dragonfly ATC

I made this using the dished side.I filled it with melted opals and added the fantasy film pressing well in.After cooling I trimmed it off and added another layer of opals.I used versamark each time so it wouldnt blow away when heated.

It was a bit fiddly but looks quite effective

This was on the subject of Art and I had just purchased a fabulous set of stamps called Da vinci pears.The background was lumieres at first but I thought it was too bright so I dry brushed with white acrylic-doing both layers several times.The images were embossed with moonglow ep and painted with H2os.Lastly I added a green opal glaze.I hope she likes it as I had fun with this one.

I have been experimenting with Studio papaer which is waxy.You print an image onto it from the computer.Ideally this goes onto a page but having smudged work in the past ,I decided to put it onto white tissue and then attach it with gel medium.This has been more satifactory and you can still see the background through the paper.

I did this page for Maggis journey book.It took several attempts!I used a lot of glazes to unify the whole thing-blue seafoam and opal.Opal is gorgeous and sadly doesnt show here-it gives a green shimmer.

I was finding laying out inchies difficult as they are by nature straight.I decided to try some round shapes christened roundies.These are basically 1 inch in diameter but as I didn't want them laid out in regimented rows I decide to include circles that were a little bigger or smaller.I had a lot of fun with these especially when I invested in a few punches as cutting out is a pain.

This was an ATC swap which had to open.I thought a window would be good also so I made one with my inchie punch and covered it with punchinella scrap-The rather odd looking balls in the picture.

I was fascinated by the picture of the woman and saw that I had a marvy metallic background in just the same colours.So the woman went on with her face behind the window.I wanted to add mystery and I thought of strange happenings in woods -hence the text and the over stamping-which sadly does'nt show up that well.

I tried to contrast the outside and inside also so it was a surprise when you opened it.I wish the punchinella had been finer are more see through.

I ran a swap on creative cards where we each had to create art on 1 inch squares.This was a challenge especially to messy people who cant see that well close up.Does that ring any bells? But lots of people joined in.When I got mine back I was determined to use a square frame However I found this one and thought it was perfect.So here they are our first inchies.

I adore making backgrounds and have huge stacks of them.Every now and then I decide to make some ATCS.My favourite style is collage stamping but I am often disappointed when my lovely background disappears.I thought I would try a simpler style with more of a silhouette look.This background is marvy metallics on black glossy card.

The one called waiting for a sign is alcohol inks and dream time is gessoed with lumieres applied with a credit card.

I have always admired some of the 3 D objects in craft magazines.I thought I would have a go.Its not perfect but it is a start.I painted it with purple lumiere paint.The top is UTEE in a thick layer which I made as a rectangle on a craft sheet and added afterwards.

I embedded lots of pearlex and coloured eps into it and then added loads of tiny gold beads.

I stamped into it -however I think that this was perhaps a mistake.It doesn't look quite right somehow.Anyway for a first attempt it was quite nice tho I haven't ever made any more pieces like this.

These things are like little shallow bottle tops-I dont know what they are called.I coloured the metal with a black sharpie and then added the opals EP.After a good layer I put down a bit of fantasy film and added more ep.The last job was a quick stamp with an inked stamp and voila a jewell.

I wanted to make a good job for our leader!!!The theme was women and I chose to portray the role of women during the war.I painted the page with paint in a rough way and kept adding distress inks which just kept disappearing.Then some texture with stamps in copper and black and gold-a grid stamp and a face.Then some sponging through some mesh holes.The background was so nice and since I covered it it has mostly gone!!!!

The other side shows this wonderful strong image overlaid by Victorians from the past-to illustrate change
